Coordinates operations and activities of all Sub Units within the Epidemiology Division, Ministry of Health.

This position is responsible for the assessment and diagnosis of persons presenting with symptoms of chronic bacterial infection of Leprosy with the objective of improving the quality of life. Duties include the planning and scheduling of administration treatment; facilitation of rehabilitation and support; education and training of medical, nursing and ancillary support staff. The incumbent is also required to undertake research to ensure practical knowledge remains current.

The incumbent is required to use research methodologies in the development of research agenda, projects and activities related to health.

The Senior Health Systems Adviser would serve as an internal consultant to support efforts and initiatives of the Ministry towards the modernization of the public health sector.

To provide technical support to the Director, Health Policy Research and Planning in collecting, maintaining and analyzing a repository of public health data to support evidence based decision making in the health sector.

Leads the review, analysis and documentation of alternative approaches to health system financing by providing policy support
on social health insurance development, other forms of financial risk protection and contractual arrangements within the health
system.

To facilitate identification and regular self audit by the clinical specialists in health care institutions.

The Occupational Health Analyst II would provide expert advice to generate and promote a positive health and safety culture by developing policies/procedures and material for the education of staff on issues relating to health and safety. Additionally, the incumbent performs investigations and audits.

To manage the HIV/AIDS Co-ordinating Unit within the Ministry of Health for implementing the Trinidad and Tobago HIV/AIDS Comprehensive Prevention Treatment and Care Health Sector Plan.

To provide technical support to the Director, Health Policy, Research and Planning in the development and evaluation of health sector policies.
