Case Management Officer V

Highly responsible and supervisory work in the field of case flow management. An employee in this class assists the Registrar and Section Manager and Second Deputy Marshal in organizing and supervising the functions and activities of a unit in a Court Registry involved in processing judgments, orders and grants. Work involves examining applications for default judgments, orders, execution documents and checking draft orders. Work also includes updating and maintaining files with respect to disposition of cases. Work is performed with initiative within the limits of established court directions, rules and procedures and is reviewed by a senior officer for accuracy, timeliness and adherence to rules and procedures.

An employee in this class organizes and coordinates the activities of staff within a Unit who are involved in the performance of specialized clerical work in case flow management. Work involves organizing and coordinating the activities related to the receipt and the processing of legal documents in preparation for court matters in the Civil, Family, Criminal Courts and the Court of Appeal. Work also includes supervising listing activities pertaining to all court lists and docket management, the processing and preparation of the court lists, varied legal documents and orders. Work is performed with considerable initiative within established court directions, rules and procedures and is reviewed by the Section Manager and Second Deputy Marshal through reports and observations for adherence to rules and procedures, conformity with established standards.

Work is performed under the close supervision of the Cardio-Thoracic surgeon in surgery related duties, but some independence is exercised in the preparation of reports, tests etc. Work is reviewed through reports, discussions and observation for effectiveness and for adherence to guidelines.
